Perhaps the critics could take into account the following. Including the two double header weekends,Wigan have had 10 short turnarounds in half a season. The RFL will no doubt keep reminding us about their "duty of care" to the players.. No wonder they are looking jaded.

The clubs all voted for this expanded (and drawn out in my opinion)format which includes lots of extra games. It is no wonder why many teams (not just Wigan) are struggling with injuries especially when you thrown in WCC, Magic weekend and the mid season international not to mention the easter period. I bet there aren't many players who aren't playing through the pain barrier with some kind of knock or injury. Pretty obvious really that something has to give.

simple option here is to reduce the amount of teams to 10 or 8 that would reduce the amount of games and improve the quality

It's for me a simple issue the clubs ask the players to do to much these short weekends are madness really Easter I'll accept as it's tradition but there wasn't any need for the extra weekend as we've just had.

I'll bet a solid pound coin it'll be back next season though.

If this is the way to do it then please explain why the NRL is light years ahead SL with more teams

Because they have a bigger pool of quality players to choose from? If we had cities the size of Brisbane and Sydney where every schoolboy played the game...

Or cut the Challenge Cup and I know that is not going to be popular on here.

Then use those rounds to give sides an extra week off. End magic weekend so that is also a weekend off and have a week off before the Easter program and after.

I know and understand why the CC option is a no goer on here but more players play the more injuries sides can pick up. SL can not carry on with 10 sides have a magic weekend and a CC.

NRL is far ahead of us but we are not helping our best players by making them play 3-4 more games a season than their NRL counterparts
