Have Leeds Devalued The Competition?
Does anyone honestly think that Leeds have so many injuries? It was remarkable that Moon and Parcell were also omitted from the 17. As a season ticket holder I want to see a competitive match not cheated.

I kinda tend to the opposite view: all clubs do this, at times, and I think it should be up to a club coach to decide what team he decides to put out for a particular game, without risk of sanction from the authorities. Of course, he may well feel the displeasure of his own fans, but I think that's his judgment call to make.

They haven't devalued it since RL at the moment is in a terrible state, this is common practice and clubs including our own don't care how much the fans have paid and how far they travelled.

At the end of the day, it was two points as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Have Leeds Devalued The Competition?
The format of the competition is the problem. A league where the goal isn't to get the most points, but instead to get enough points to be in the top 4 and aim to peak at the end of the season - that means all games are far from equal.
Can't blame Leeds. They have amassed enough points to be confident of a top 4 finish, so why not rest players before a cup semi-final? We haven't got enough points, so weren't afforded that luxury.
If the league was a pure league system, most points over the season wins, then each game would be as valuable, and dropping points in any match would be an issue for those wanting to win something. Of course, it would also lead to lots of "dead-rubbers" towards the end of the season, with those in the middle of the league having nothing to play for, so instead we have a league that morphs into a knockout competition at the end, and is ultimately decided by a one-off match at the end of the season.

Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

Leeds are just playing to the rules - the format has completely wrecked rugby league and created the most amount of meanlngless matches and hollow "champions"
Can't blame Leeds they are assured of 2nd going into the super 8's why not rest the team
Only the format of the league can. E to blame because it allows them to get away with it

Not disagreeing with you,and frankly we as fans don't help by putting up with this sort of thing stay away and send the message to the sport, but thats why the sport knows they have you over a barrell in only way sport can.Wigan_forever1985 wrote:Leeds are just playing to the rules - the format has completely wrecked rugby league and created the most amount of meanlngless matches and hollow "champions"
