Hooper again

Post by frenchman »

Good inside info that Hooper has turned down new contract at Scousers and we are fav. to sign him - IM is very keen. Mason also likely target. IMO both would be an improvement on what we have now - that says a lot!!

Both are good players, Hooper is a very under rated player imo, if he came I would like to see him at centre, hes very strong and quite fast, and has good ball skills, maybe our wingers would get the ball then. I wouldnt want him to replace Orr, who i think will be awsome next season if he can get fully fit, once we have a fully fit squad and a pack making yards, both our halves will relish the space, and they both have the ball skills and pace to exploit any weaknesses.

Mason is ok, he is far from a bad player, pretty similar to Guisset really. No frills he just works hard.

At the risk of upsetting Hayley if she reads this... why do you think Orr will be such a sensation next year at Wigan?
If he's not, he'll be gone! IM doesn't want to play players who aren't interested in playing themselves, I don't want to say he hasn't been trying, I'm sure he has but if he doesn't do what we've all seen him do at Cas then he's not gonna last much longer him and Moran should be at the thick of all the action but both have been very quiet, as have our props, in fact we haven't seen much of an attack from Wigan in most games, the ball goes out to the wingers who come back inside and take on the props. Dallas is easily my man of the season.

I suppose it would make sense in getting Hooper and playing him at centre if what people have been saying on here is accurate, (about Wild and Aspy going) I would like to see players doing what they're meant to do in that position next year, so I would like to see Dallas and Carney challenging the opposite wingers rather than the 20 stone forwards and having a bit of a run. I still don't want to get rid of Wild though :(
Think I'll start a keep Wild campaign

One advantage that Wild and Aspi have - (so far) they're our only players not to have been injured.
One could argue, of course, that they avoid any actions that might incur injuries, but I think that would be more than a little unfair. 25 injury-prone players is enough in a 27 man squad!

Sorry Mrs Lam, but I can't back you in your campaign. IMO we should get rid of both of them. It's all very well not getting injured, however the same could be said for the bloke that carries the kicking tee onto the pitch - or Maurice for that matter. Neither player is up to the desired standard for centre and we already have a couple of decent 2nd rows (even if one of them is playing prop).

Personally I wouldn't want Hooper to come to Wigan - I think he was born to play for Saints. His attitude is unsporting to say the least and at times he has been the dirtiest player in SL. Not sure Lam would be pleased to see his arrival after all the times he hit him late!

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

No way would i like to see a player like Hooper at the club. The club gets moaned at enough about dirty players - Seuseu, Scully, Newton etc. but non of these are anywhere near as bad as this guy. Out and out thug.
