Club to compile a list of the greatest Australian-Wigan moments

Countdown to 2018 tour to New South Wales continues

Wigan fans have been invited to put forward their suggestions for the greatest Australian-Wigan moments of all-time.

Wigan has a long affinity with the country of Australia, the Cherry and Whites first squared off against the Kangaroos in a tour game over 100 years ago whilst the Club has seen many great Australian players come and go and played some of the biggest games against teams from Down Under.

With Wigan set to head to New South Wales in February 2018 the Club are looking to compile a list of the great Australian-Wigan moments of all time.

Communications Executive, Tim Fisher, said: “The Wigan Club and Australia has formed a great association over the years. The pair are real powerhouses of Rugby League within their own right and what better way to recognise that than to look back through history and reflect on some fantastic moments.

“Whether it be Pat Richards’ drop-goal against St Helens, a memorable tour game against the Kangaroos or one of Wigan’s famous World Club Challenge wins – we want to hear what fans would like including in the list.

“It promises to be quite a collection of memories and we look forward to seeing what ideas fans put forward.”

To submit a suggestion simply interact with the relevant posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or email info@wiganwarriors.com.
