Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

CATALANS WAITING ON MONAGHAN

Post by josie andrews »

Catalans Dragons are waiting to learn if Michael Monaghan will be returning to the club as assistant coach next season.

The former Warrington Wolves hooker had returned to the UK for a new opportunity but that has now fallen through. He has been with the Dragons since retiring in 2014.

I wonder if this “new opportunity” was our “supposed assistant Coach”??
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if he was lined up as our Asst Coach.
Perhaps a work permit/visa was the problem him being an asst and not head coach.

Or maybe the financial side of the contract wasn’t satisfactory??

Ian Henderson was on our radar.

I thought the same thing Josie,no smoke without fire etc looks like no one new is coming in now to help on the coaching side, which is a worry.

Hasn’t he gone to Wire from the London Broncos?

Yes, he chose Wire over Wigan.

Monaghan has a meeting with SW in early December. From what I heard from the meeting, SW was happy enough and told this to IL and KR and left it with them to sort.

Now it seems nothing was sorted out.

Funny how we were looking at a ex Hooker from Catalans, only to lose out current hooker to Catalans.

TBH I would have been pretty happy with MM, especially to work with Powell.

Think this should go back in the rumour section

Of course but I think we all hoped for a more permanent assistant for Wane, though a coach purely for kicking will hopefully stop the rot in that department
