The Season so far:

Betts as Head Coach:
Salford City Reds W 15 - 4
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats L 18 - 16
Bradford Bulls L 27 - 28
Widnes Vikings W 20 - 32
London Broncos L 34 - 20
Leigh Centurions W 62 - 6
St Helens W 22 - 20
Hull FC W 15 - 21
Whitehaven W 42 - 4
Huddersfield Giants L24 - 16
Leeds Rhinos L14 - 38
Bradford Bulls L40 - 8
Widnes Vikings W 23 - 22
UTC W 16 - 10
Warrington Wolves L28 - 22
Huddersfield Giants L24 - 26

Under Milward:
Salford City Reds W 20 - 34
London Broncos L18 - 22
Hull FC L24 - 28
Leeds Rhinos L70 - 0

If you add all the points that Wigan lost each match by under Betts it is 89 out from 8 games we lost. Betts also had a 50% success rate.

If you do the same under Milward 78 points for 3 games lost. Milward has a 25% success rate.

So are Wigan any better Under Milward? put it this way we have 10 games left 25% of 10 games would be 2 (and a half) which is four points. 50% of 10 games is 5 which would be 10 points it could be the differance between Super League Wigan Warriors and National League Wigan Warriors.

Judge him at the end of next season, not 4 games into his Wigan career.

25% suscess could just be enough to keep us safe and form us for the top 6 next year and champs the year after.Couldnt see that happening with dennis but can with ian :)

Can we stop this blaming the coach all the time.

Betts was not the man to get us out of this hole. He did not have enough support from the board. That is what has let us down.

Yes we could go down but we will be straight back up. IM deserves a decent run at this not someone picking % to prove that Betts was not that bad. I agree Denis was not a bad coach but lacked support.

The real culprits of this mess is the board and some players who have forgoten the moto of the club.

One good thing about us supportes we will stay loyal to the club at all times pity some players cannot even honor there contracts. If Rads and BC want out of there contracts then let them go. BC is well over rated and Rads is not the player he was 18 months ago. Wellens is the bast fulllback in SL now.

Only Dallas and Godwin has shown an apetite for the game over the last 6 weeks. As they saying goes no pain no gain.

IM nor Betts is to blame for our horrendus position but. If IM can not stop us going down then we need Bryan Robson to work one of his miracles.

No its starts in 2 years time not this season

This is from the Guardian on line

But after a lunchtime press conference had failed to douse the flames, the RFL responded with a statement stressing that promotion and relegation will continue for the next three seasons, and that even then "a route will remain open into the Super League", albeit one based on minimum financial requirements that most National League clubs - and several of Super League's 12 current members - would struggle to fulfil.

Totally agree with your comments. This season has been a bannana skin right from the start.I for one am getting just a bit brassed off with Eddie Hemmings and his obsession of Wigans demise.I know from the Hull game walking back to the car its IM who will show us the way starting at saints on sunday .See you there. :)

if we get relegated do you not think sky will force sl to go back to 14 clubs there for save us,and keep there viewing figers up .Wigan rl is a good marketing name for rl and sky cant see to many foreign coutrys heard of any other clubs other than wigan.so for this 1 reason only if we do go down i beleive the format will be changed :exc:

The real culprits of this mess is the board and some players who have forgoten the moto of the club.
The club moto 'Ancient and Loyal' had nothing to do with Wigan rugby at all. It comes from when Wigan was awarded the ceremonial sword, after Oliver Cromwell had passed through the town. Wigan was an ancient town dating back to Roman times and it remained Loyal to Cromwell so the moto became 'Ancient and Loyal.'

Hope you enjoyed the History lesson but my main point was that it has nothing to do with Wiagn rugby really.

I think Wigan Warriors should have a new moto, any ideas:
How about:

"Play well or go away" :doz:
