This might keep you busy for a while, list your favourite players in their correct positions that you have witnessed live, no Billy Boston's or Colin Clarke's unless you actually saw them play.

This is mine since 1982 :

1. Kris Radlinski - class !!
2. John Ferguson - 1 season but never forgotten.
3. Inga Tuigamala - Missed him badly when he left
4. Gene Miles - If only he had been 20 not 30.
5. Martin Offiah - 2nd Best try at Wembley Ever.
6. Shaun Edwards - Who else ?
7. Andy Gregory - But pushed close by Lammy.
8. Terry O'Connor - Gets better with age.
9. Terry Newton - Just. Derms 2nd.
10. Andy Platt - Hard as nails.
11. Dennis Betts - Pity he went to NZ.
12. Phil Clarke - Class player, even better
spokesperson for RL.
13. Ellery Hanley - Best Try at Wembley Ever,
Saints '89 - The Greatest.

Subs :
14. Frano Botica - Best Goalkicker ever and a
superb sidestep.
15. Sam Panapa - Probably one of most talented
and underated players ever.
16. Andy Farrell - Only Hanley could keep Faz out
17. Greame West - Started it all. Mr Wigan.

No Jason Robinson?

I started watching in the early 60s (remember the "hen pen"?)and there are too many that have to be left out.
I came up with this one...

1. Radlinski
2. Boston
3. Bell
4. Tuigamala
5. Robinson
6. Edwards
7. Gregory
8. McTigue
9. Clarke
10. Platt
11. West
12. Clarke
13. Hanley

14. Lydon
15. Paul
16. Betts
17. O'Connor

But I can't leave out any of these so here's the "A" team...
1. Botica
2. Iro
3. Miles
4. Ashton
5. Offiah
6. Kenny
7. Lam
8. Skerrett
9. Dermott
10. Case
11. Goodway
12. Furner
13. Farrell

14. Connolly
15. Dallas
16. Cowie
17. Ashurst

...and I'm sure to have forgotten someone!

Are you old enough to have seen Sullivan, Gee, Mountford, Ryan etc.
Obviously, if someone has been watching Wigan since the fifties it would be nigh impossible ?

Can you imagine Leeds fans having a go at this ??

Schofield, ....Hanley, ....Harris, .......
Er ......STUCK !!

Geoff

It someone built a machine that could reverse the ages of these players to 25 years, and a match was arranged, what score would you predict ?

BTW I would buy a bloody ticket !!!!

Tough prediction but yeah, it would be a helluva game!
The props battle alone would be worth the admission fee, and the half backs ain't half bad either!

Forgot to mention - the Ref would be Eric Clay!
(oops - Kelvin just got sent off and the A team won 48-46 with a Frano penalty in the last minute!)

and even scarier - I remember Eddie Waring!
(much as I try to forget...)
