Our discipline is a joke!

In the last few weeks our club's discipline both on and off the field has been nothing short of terrible.
Off the field we have our players inebriated and acting inappropriately in the full view of the public. Before this we have signed banned drug users, had our players fighting on race days, arguing with spectators on live tv and a player assaulting a prone opponent.
We have a coach, owner and director who publically deplore these standards of behaviour yet privately try to conceal them and cover up these behaviours.
It is not surprising then that with this level of behaviour off the field our level of discipline on the field is also terrible and if we continue to behave in this manner on the field our results will suffer.
We have had high tackles, off the ball tackles, ball stealing and most unforgivably back chatting the referee and when the ref talks to our senior players they just want to argue and risk further penalties rather than turn round to the team and say 'come on lads, sort it out'
I am hoping that our new coach whoever they are will be a 'new broom', a disciplinarian who will sort out the behaviour both on and off the pitch, a coach who will expect high standards and not be afraid to upset people if they fall short of these standards. We also need the owner and directors to back the coach 100%.
We can only hope.
