Anthony Gelling has agreed a deal to join Warrington Wolves in 2020 according to The Sun.
The 28-year-old surprisingly signed for financially-stricken Widnes ahead of this season despite their relegation to the Championship.
But it seems Gelling will be back in Super League next season to link up with their Cheshire rivals.
In six years with Wigan, the maverick centre won the Super League Grand Final and World Club Challenge but returned to New Zealand in 2017.
However he only played eight times in the NRL for the Vodafone Warriors and agreed a deal with Widnes last year before their relegation.
Gelling was praised for honouring his contract with the Vikings but it seems that will only be for one year, with Warrington handing him a Super League lifeline.
He reportedly passed a medical at the Wolves training ground this week and will be a replacement for Ryan Atkins who has yet to sign a new deal.

Warrington set to sign Gelling
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Can't have any legs to it all, after all all the forum experts have explained how rubbish he is.
Surely Warrington wouldn't even bother to enquire.

And he's not cup-tied, didn't get selected last week for Widnes.

Signing him in place of who? They have Atkins who is 3rd choice.
Unless they are due to lose Atkins as he doesn't want to play second fiddle and Gelling is Centre and 2nd row cover.
