Not in this case, Batemans statement has changed.
has it? he said hes not asked for a move, he can negotiate his contract annually due to a clause in it, he is doing and wants a fair wage compared to down under which the raiders say they cannot match, hes still not asked for a move but wants to earn top dollar which he should be entitled to, if they didnt like it they shouldnt have agreed for it to be in hos contract

I agree he should be able to earn the most possible, but hes doing so by offering himself to other clubs and then going back to the raiders, so the story was true.

no the story said he asked for a release, as they cannot offer him more money they have given him permission to speak to other clubs, big difference

He just said live in an interview that it isn’t true.
Canberra gave him permission to speak with other clubs because they don’t have much space in 2021 and no space in 2022.
He explicitly said he never asked to speak to other clubs, that was led by the club.
Said the story was taken and twisted out of context.

Its a simple story really, one that has been told many times over..
Boy wants move, agent gets him move, boy meets new agent, agent convinces boy hes worth more, boy sacks agent,new agent angles for move for his slice of the pie, boy gets new move.
And so it ever was..sadly I'm certain Bateman will never be seen in a wigan shirt again, sad really.

I really dont want to see Bateman in a Wigan shirt again, wonderful player for us but small for a forward in the best league in the world and by the time he is 28 will be knackered.
