Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Disciplinary
Morgan Smithies facing two suspensions
Morgan Smithies could face a ban of up to seven games.
He will face the RFL's disciplinary panel tomorrow on a Grade D charge of dangerous contact following the tackle which led to James Clare being stretchered off.
The normal suspension range for a Grade D offence is three to five matches.
But Smithies has also been banned for two games for headbutting (Grade C) earlier in the game.
Multiple suspensions run successively - one after the other - rather than concurrently.
Smithies was sinbinned for the tackle on Clare and Castleford coach Daryl Powell labelled it a 'crusher tackle' and "terrible".
Smithies took to Twitter, saying: "Hoping James Clare is okay, speedy recovery mate, wasn't intentional."
On Sunday, Clare stated he had been given the all-clear and was "home safe and sound".

Re: Disciplinary
The headbutt was just stupid but a ban may teach him to calm down a bit. He seems to be getting caught up with his 'hardman' image and it's detracting from his game. I thought the 'crusher' looked accidental so hopefully he won't get many more for that one.

The head butt was stupid and petulant he really needs to calm down and fast he’s getting a reputation and not a good one either.
The crusher tackle was for me clumsy but it is still a crusher tackle I fear he will cop another couple of games for that too again he needs to calm it down a bit

Utter idiot. Theres a good player in there but his behaviour was ridiculous. Lam needs to remind him he’s supposed to be a professional.
Whatever happened to Billy McGinty's pineapple?
Re: Disciplinary
He's not got a great disciplinary record so far in his young career and hopefully he'll realise his growing potential once he's served this, what will be a lengthy suspension, and that the penny drops. His aggression is great but it's got to be disciplined and this is where the coaching team come in, as 2 suspensions from the same match is where his learning curve begins.

Re: Disciplinary
Just watched both incidents again..... the head butt was intentional imo....... the crusher type one was purely accidental but made terrible by the commentators...... funnily enough they didnt make a big deal of the head butt which baffled me
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

A six match ban. Everyone else seems to have been pure as the driven snow. Funny that!

Operational Rules Tribunal: Morgan Smithies
Wigan Warriors’ Morgan Smithies has received a four-match suspension after pleading guilty to a Grade D charge of Dangerous Contact with Castleford Tigers’ James Clare during last Saturday’s Betfred Super League fixture.
The Tribunal also fined Smithies £500.
Smithies had already been issued with a two-match penalty notice by the RFL’s Match Review Panel in respect of a separate incident in the same game, so will now miss the next six matches.
