Tonight’s game
Re: Tonight’s game
At this stage of the season you take 3 wins from 3. Other than the 2nd half against Wakey, we haven't really fired yet and considering the players we have missing its been a great start. Smithies is starting to hit the gap off Hastings in the same way that Farrell does for fun. He's not quite got Farrells timing on it just yet but once he nails that down it's another serious attacking weapon that we will have at our disposal.
Did have to chuckle at the comms. You'd have thought it was Leeds reserves against our full strength side from the way they were harping on. Fail to mention that we had TWO second row forwards in the centre, our 4th and 5th choice wingers (although Bibby has very much stepped up to the mark) Our first choice centre at fullback (Although he is very much at home there and will be interesting to see if French replaces Hanley on the wing next week rather than Zak moving into the centres) and two 20 year olds in the pack. But yeah, Leeds were missing players!

Don’t forget to absences of Byrne and Field. After saying that, I think Leeds will be a force to be reckoned with come the play offs.AndyNick wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 1:26 pm At this stage of the season you take 3 wins from 3. Re: Tonight’s game
Yeh we must be the worst kicking team in the league in open play, all that grass to aim at but we keep putting in down throat of the full back.
Defence was good on both sides really, but I think that was because there were so many forwards on the field whose job it is to tackle. Attack was ropey, but conversely that was because there were hardly any backs on the field.
Not to worry keep supporting the boys, it will come good in the end.
A point to consider on the new kit, it seams to me that when we get tackled it looks like we have been skull dragged, shirt ends up round the neck and shots around the ankles.

Re: Tonight’s game
I think we did absolutely fine in the circumstances, again conceding only one try. Zak was the only one of our first-team back 5 playing!
it's a funny old state of affairs, isn't it, when former Rhino Danny McGuire has nicer things to say about Wigan than any of Sky's ex-Wigan players!
(actually, tbf, McGuire talks a lot of sense, and is certainly one of the better player/pundits, along with Wilkin)

Didn’t Leeds only have 1 of their first choice back 7 available?moto748 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 16, 2021 2:24 pm I think we did absolutely fine in the circumstances, again conceding only one try. Zak was the only one of our first-team back 5 playing!

They had it worse than us. We cannot complain about second rowers playing centre when they had to have a second rower at half.

I’ve always said the same. They be okay doing the commentating on the game along with Kevin Brown & Jon Wells IMO
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

How many times did the commentary team mention leeds missing players, when in fact we had 5 missing.
