Full back in the modern game needs to read the opposition and olhelp to organise the team structure in defence and attack. I think that's probably why Hanley hasn't played there. Field needs easing into that role imo.
If he starts at 1, the thinking must be that it's more important to get him up to speed asap, even at the risk of losing to Salford.
I'd put him on the bench and bring him on when we're 18 points in front!

Why should Bibby be demoted to the bench? And why put Field at FB for his first game back surely he needs to be eased into the team gradually after such a long layoff as Gildart should have been.
simple answer, hes not as good as the other players, Field played Fullback in the NRL aswell as HB so pretty simple again, We dont have squads anymore or reserves to "ease" people in, once fit you play thats just the reality of it, add to that where would you ease him in on the wing where he has played one game professionally and that was for us.....stupid selection that was?
Simple reply, Bibby has played better than Gildart so far this year and we should pick on form.
has he? at centre? dont think he has, be in for Dom anyway as hes gone now

He isnt playing according to Lam today. Still has a hammy problem. It makes didly squit difference if he is in the squad or not
