He must have done Josie because it remains crystal clear where I first heard he’d signed not talking to Catalan was the good Friday derby at St. Helens,I just laughed it off at the time.

Then I came and read it on here…

I just presumed Sam was moved on for his part in tomkins Gate, his part wasn't bad enough to have to immediately get rid but he stould by and let his brother behave like that and from the look on his face when he sees a camera I imagine he was being equally disruptive until that point.

On Tomkins due to his talents I imagine he's been treated like a spoilt child most of his adult career so it didn't surprise me he would just ignore his.contracts.

Why does it need to be an additional fixture? Why can’t it just be one of the regular rounds?
Important word, "money" ?
probably sky driven too

re regular rounds - no club wants to give up a home fixture and think its been discussed before. Can you imagine Wigan or Saints wanting to only play their home game against each other somewhere on the road? the only way that it would have any legs as a regular round is if the home club had a guarantee that they would make the same income from the game as if played at home
If all revenue were pooled and redistributed back, then clubs would be motivated to support changes that increase revenue for the whole game, not just for them.

That sound way to much like socialism and we are told that's bad....

It's a good idea but for it to work for me clubs in SL would have to meet a criteria in attendance as I can imagine clubs like saints,,Warrington,Wigan, Leeds would be happy that funds from their top draw games then equally gets given to clubs like leigh and Huddersfield, Salford and their low crowds

Well, those "big" clubs would want the smaller ones to increase their crowds which benefits everyone. And the pressure would be on clubs not pulling their weight financially to be replaced with clubs with more financial potential. Clubs can be inidividually owned, but as franchises, where they can have their right to operate in the league revoked, and outside organisations can bid to get in - either a one in one out situation, or admitting a new club that would increase the overall income of the game. We already do this with the TV contract, why not gate money and perhaps merchandise income?

Sam wasn’t moved on it was Joel.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Joel immediately yeah, I just presumed Sam was moved on at the end of the year instead.

Not quite. He wasn't out of contract until Wigan decided not to take up the option they had for 2019. Wigan had an option to keep hold him for 2019 but sought to negotiate a reduction in his wages. They decided the salary they agreed with him when he re-signed was too high. Which was a ridiculous thing to do. He then turned down a new contract offer on reduced wages but as soon as Wigan did not to take up the original option he was a free agent.

If I'd have been in his shoes I'd have told Wigan where to go as well as they had reneged on the contract.
