Absolutely zilch in RL or as a head coach in either code
Not correct.
Sorry yeah that was wrong, he hasn't been a head coach in union for over 10 years and has never held a coaching job in league. That's more accurate. Edwards has been a defence coach for the last 10 years and considering we're crying out for a better attack, out defence is actually our strength, why would we want a union defence coach with no experience coaching in league as our head coach?
Well that’s the question isn’t it?

Edwards would have been a laughable disaster as wigans coach

It was a fitting end to a non-coaching regime that has now ended - unless we promote from within which will probably mean more of the same.
It's a shame that Hardaker and Hastings had probably one of their worst games in a Wigan shirt and there is no point singling out players when what is at fault is the way we are set up (possible an exaggeration, given the lack of planning) to play.
We were very slow across the field under Wane but I don't believe anyone though we would get even slower. The reason second-rows and centres don't pass is because when the ball gets to them, they are too close to the wingers and the touchline.
Seeing players run into each other when trying to make something of the 4th and 5th tackle would be embarrassing at school level but in SL!?!
We got what we deserved (the team not the supporters) in losing to one of the worst teams I've seen at this level. To average 15 points a game through a season is barely credible.

Two other bits. That spectacle will not have done RL any favours. Why would you recommend a casual spectator to come to a match and watch that?

The second will be under the Hicks thread.

Wigan will continue on a downward spiral as long as Lenaghan is in charge of the club.I am sick of listening to people saying how much he has put into the club out of his own pocket. When he does decide to go does anyone seriously think he will make a loss.He is a very successful businessman and will make a profit. He has proved he is a penny pincher and the the signings for next year have proved that.As long as fans are prepared to put up with the club being also rans then he will continue to in the same vein.I will no longer put money into his pocket and I have supported this club for over 60 years.

But the bottom line is Edwards has been successful wherever he has been, look at his record.

Get Wane & watch us get back to winning. Few will agree but he was a winner.
Can’t believe Newman clearly punched Gildart in the face & bloodied his mouth but nothing was done about it.
Come & save us Mr Wane.

Hmm where to start....

Was out for Wedding Anniversary meal so watched the game late last night. First half, fair enough, hard play off rugby. HAd to watch 2nd half in fast forward and got the sinking feeling "we are not going to score today" and once we went behind it was like the air coming out of a balloon ....

Although we have decent individual forwards we are too lightweight as a pack and unbalanced. Not sure why Lamb dropped Clark/Clubb from last week (Bullock was injured) and that put us on the back foot (again). The two NRL props will help but we need another no-nonesence lad to get us going forward.

Powell is a decent player but if we want to be a top side we need class at Hooker.

But not in coaching at any sort of high level in RL,sorry just because he was successful in union and he is doesn’t mean he would have succeeded here I genuinely think it would have been a disaster at the end of the day though it doesn’t matter ge shafted the club good and proper

A final comment from Mrs SS, who was even more pissed off than me with the display last night. Why could Leeds always push us back and we could hardly shift Leeds an inch even when we had three against a winger or centre? Technique or conditioning?
