Syd Abram's grave is quite easy to find in Hindley Cemetery.

Would gladly do, but don't travel over there that often, especially in closed season, I'm afraid, so maybe somebody nearer?

Just looked it up under Hindley Cemetery Index on very irritating Wigan World website.

Sydney Abram, aged 81 years, 18th Feb 1988, grave number CC 9-173. It's quite a prominent gravestone and the inscription mentions that he was the first try scorer in a Wembley cup final (Wigan v Dewsbury 1929).

Syd lived near our shop on Chapel Green in Hindley when I was a kid in the 1950s, and I briefly worked with him (for Norman Bibby's firm) in 1974.

Hello old friend Meds

There will almost certainly be players dotted around Cumberland. Who? I don’t know 🤷 that’s the fun of it. I’m sure I have a sort of a list somewhere of players and genealogical info. If you’re interested though keep in contact or I can contact yourself as and when
