It came down to a battle between Leeds and the Perpignan based Catalans Dragons, who are coached by Steve McNamara, a former assistant coach of the Warriors, who worked with Fusitu’a in 2017.

Fusitu’a chose life in Yorkshire ahead of in the South of France.

No contest is there? Dirty, rainy, cold Leeds! Perfect 😂

Are Austin and Sezer Leeds' marquee's this season? They've spent big this season in trying to move from mid-table mediocrity but must be at a cost to their squad depth

So Leeds sign a winger who has scored 61 tries in108 NRL games, who can also play at centre and we sign an unknown from the Championship.
The future is looking grim.

But surly the NRL one is a unknown as well we haven't seen him play SL yet.

Is that supposed to be a serious comment?

It was a comment in Jest.

I'm just not all doom and gloom and will wait to see how these players go next year, there has been plenty of duds from the NRL and there has to be a reason he's coming to SL at prime age.

Well he must have decided that it was best to take a big drop in salary to join Leeds :o Leeds salary cap position doesn't make sense if you look at their new recruits and those that have exited. They are either fudging the cap or more players have yet to leave.

I'd forgotten all about Fusitu'a, to be honest. Has he been long-term injured?

He may have scored 61 tries in 108 games (which sounds pretty good), but he's been at the NZW since 2014!

Had decent seasons in 2017 & 2018, but only 16 appearances in 2019 and only seven in 2020.

Not according to a post in the Martin Offiah thread. A substantial amount of his wage is being paid by his former club.

I fail to see how this doesn’t break the salary cap rules but it apparently doesn’t. I am sure his former club must be some sort of registered company which makes them no different than say Heinz in Wigan. If Heinz desired to pay half Batemans salary as sponsorship that would count on the cap.
