Re: Jai Field.
I’ve been told that Tommy will still play next season, as we have not enough older, experienced players to captain the team. Maybe not every game….
Farrell? Powell? Bateman?

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Cracking in defence though, covers a lot of ground, has a stare that is really scary and shoulders that pack more punch than a howitzer…

I personally wouldn't want to lose French or Field!
Despite the fact we haven't seen Field at his best, the signing of Cust, retaining French and Field and either bringing on O'Neil or signing a new 9 is finally establishing an effective spine?

Re: Jai Field.
Captain the team? Presided over one of our worst ever years in Super League which would also rank very low in our history too. He was never captaincy material just "experienced", but how far can you pick experience for the sake of it especially when it is detrimental to the overall teamjosie andrews wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 5:44 pm I’ve been told that Tommy will still play next season, as we have not enough older, experienced players to captain the team. Should let him retire now we have Isa for 2 more years
Back by demand.
Re: Jai Field.
I know his girlfriend has gone back to Aus as she couldn’t settle here so that could be a deciding factor in what Field decides to do.

Re: Jai Field.
If that is true WTF did Wigan sign him and bring him the the UK in the first place?
What happens if there are no takers? Presumably he's contracted to Wigan so that leaves the club over-quota if no one bites.
Is there any planning in the recruitment and re-signing of players? It's as if Cust being available was a complete surprise and they signed him after having already filled all the quota spots by having Tommy go around again.
