Re: Des Drummond
Was genuinely shocked when we heard the news before the game tonight.
RIP sincere condolences to his family & friends.
Was a great servant to Rugby League with Leigh, Warrington & Great Britain.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I was fortunate enough to know Des in his playing days at Leigh. An outstanding player, tough as they come and a thoroughly nice humble lad off the field.RIP Dessie.

RIP Des
he must have had the hardest head and strongest neck / shoulders in the game. i've never seen anyone run / tackle headfirst like he did at times. Hard as nails and reading the posts from Leigh and Wire fans a true favourite at both clubs

Re: Des Drummond
Sad news. I can remember him and Joe Lydon having a scrap at Central Park which if I recall correctly spilled over the barrier at the side of the pitch into the crowd. Both picked up bans and also didn’t go on tour to Australia with GB as a result. So GB went to Australia without it’s two best wingers. Only GB would do that, the Aussies wouldn’t have left their best players at home!
