Just heard these Daniel Anderson has named these three 'out for the season' injured in his squad for the Final Eliminator.

A bluff? Or not really that badly injured ....?

http://saints.merseyworld.com/html/news ... 1128432118 just found it.

Don't you name an 18 man squad three days prior to the game. He's named 20 here, take away the three injured players and you've got your starting 17!

That's what I think he's done anyway!

I guess we will find out on Friday.

It says Albert and Long will, if they play, have face masks on.

In Longs case I guess it will be hard to tell the difference but I can't see this being a good idea.

What is Noble going to do? Tell his players to go easy on these two in case they aggrivate their injuries?

I doubt it and so it could be extemely dangerous. I also don't think it is unfair on the Bradford players. If they tackle hard they could do more damage, if they lay off a bit it lets the injured players run at them.

Funny how the press was bout the horrific nature of the injury whilst Newtons case was being heard but now we see the truth and he made a huge song and dance about not very much. Whose the real victim :D

:D We are talking Sean Long, would you trust him

BTW - Stevo hates Wigan largely due to Bill Ashurst. They both signed for Penrith in the 70's. Alas, Bill soon worked out that Stevo was an idiot and much to the amusement of the Aussies he regularly beat Stevo up. At one stage, the fights made the front page of Rugby League Week

The severity of the injury has nothing to do with the punishment though. Had Newton hit the slighty softer tissue marginly higher than the eye-socket he would be blind. It's the intent and potential for injury that is punishable.

Strange...according to the RFL statement, medical reports were taken into account when deciding the severity of the punishment, yet Gilmour played against Leeds, and now Long is supposedly ok!
