Reminiscent of Gareth Hock, I'm afraid.
At the end of his career I'm sure he will realise what he could have been compared to what he actually achieved.

And so we move on and at least it would seem to solve one problem about having to shoehorn players into our side.
i had initially referenced Gareth Hock in my post, but deleted it. Gareth imo was a far more talented player, but the comparison off the field seems to be very valid. Unfortunately neither fulfilled their massive playing potential because of off field issues / problems, and that is quite sad really

Did his shoulder in the pre season friendly at Salford’s The Willows!

Probably buck the trend a little here but on the pitch Zak has been a very good player for us - rarely have i come away from a game thinking he's had a nightmare. He's been played out of position for large chunks of his 3 years here but he's always given his all as i can see when he is on the pitch.

Off the pitch to be fair whats he actually done?, his main issues were pre-first game for us if i remember and during his stay here he hasnt been in trouble

The issues seem to have come around him moving back home - the club probably should of seen the writing on the wall at that point and moved him on at the end of last season. I find it strange they didnt given how easily they let other players off to the NRL - maybe there wasnt the interest but Zak clearly wanted to move to a yorkshire club at that time.

The ending is a bit sour and he's obviously played funny to force a move at the end but on the pitch ive never seen him not trying

I dont subscribe to this "we saved him" lark - we took a punt, thats the clubs choice he owes the club nothing in return really we knew what we were signing up for. Disregarding Zaks behaviour at the end i think it boils down to poor planning again, at the end of last season we had 3 FB's and 1 Senior Centre lined up for the year ahead, 1 of the FB's (who was 3rd choice by this stage) clearly wanted to leave, we had an oppotunity there to release 1 FB to sign 1 Centre - we didnt take it.

Im not saying the club are fully to blame and obviously Zak has not covered himself in glory in his exit but anyone with an ounce of common sense knew this was coming everyone here was suprised to see him here this year and knew he 100% wouldnt be next year so the club cant be too shocked with whats happened
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

Solid, dependable player on the pitch. Not his fault he has not played in his best position for a long time.

Worst signings? Doc Murray and Paul Koloi spring to mind :D

Troll.
Why?
Was voted player of season other year, played most of his Wigan career out of position and there are loads more worse signings.

Mathers
Luke Davico
Davico wasn’t a bad signing, he/we were just unlucky with his injury.

My understanding was that Zak would leave at the end of the season anyway and that we had given permission for him to talk to Yorkshire clubs last season but that no one would/could sign him?

So, the club has been fair to him and yes, we should have had a specialist centre lined up sooner.

Let’s please go out and get a proper centre to replace him now.
I hope they don’t expect bibby to fill in at centre, he’s not good enough

Best for the club if this is contract termination by "mutual consent" so clearing some space on the cap for a new, specialist centre. Rumours please!
