Kiwis World Cup winner Thomas Leuluai made a shock return from a serious knee injury to help Wigan win a record-extending 20th Challenge Cup in his 20th first-grade season.
Former Warriors player Tui Lolohea missed four kicks at goal for the Huddersfield Giants, who lost 16-14 to the Wigan Warriors in a tense final at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday (Sunday NZ time).
But it was Leuluai’s surprise comeback that proved the talking point.
The 36-year-old Wigan club captain had been expected to be out for two months after his injury in April, but he defied predictions to return after just five weeks.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
