Regardless of the salary cap, we may have had space but chose not to offer more for affordability reasons or just deeming he isn’t worth more than we offered.

He isn't worth more
to us than offered. He is worth more to Huddersfield. Hence they offered more and hence the salary cap has worked in this instance

That’s my point.
It doesn't mean 100% that we would but the chances are a lot more likely

Turned down their first offer yes, I know this for a fact.
His agent is Sam Ayoub. Was mentioned to Wigan a few weeks ago when we were talking to him about a different player.
