Fans Village

Post by josie andrews »

Did any of you go to the new Fan Village on its reopening at the Toulouse game?

A special piece of artwork to encapsulate 150 years of Wigan Warriors will also be unveiled…

Did any of you pay attention to the detail of this artwork?

I remember seeing a very small snippet of it on Twitter before it was fully unveiled on the night & made the comment that it reminded me of The Beano! Off that small section I didn’t really like it but, when you see the whole of it, it is quite stunning & remarkable.

Okay, I got some digs from the media guys because of my comment.

But on the night of the game I was hurried into the Fans Zone & asked to ‘Go find yourself’! Which I did & was helped along by the daughter of someone high up in the club.

I was completely gobsmacked, that the club had honoured me by having me, among many, many greats of our club in this artwork depicting the 150 years history 😊

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I went to the Fans Village before and after the game. in a change to my normal routine (thought I'd go for the bus and Shank's Pony, rather than drive). Yeah, it's all good, Chance of a half-decent pint, too.
