Huddersfield Giants star Will Pryce’s sensational move reportedly confirmed
Huddersfield Giants star Will Pryce’s sensational transfer has been confirmed.
There has been much speculation about where the teenage sensation’s future will lie in recent weeks and months, but finally there has been confirmation – he will be a Newcastle Knights player in 2024.
The Knights’ club recruitment officer, Clint Zammit, flew to England earlier in the year to speak with Pryce, whose father Leon was once a Super League great.
Now, though, the Daily Telegraph has confirmed the news and what many people are describing as ‘the worst kept secret’ in rugby league.
Pryce, of course, burst onto the scene with Huddersfield at the back end of the 2021 Super League season with Ian Watson giving his younger players a shot in the first team with nothing to lose.
Even Watson must have been surprised when he saw just how easy Pryce took to life in the top flight with some incredible touches and skill propelling the teenager into the limelight.
2022 has been more difficult for the playmaker with a huge ban disrupting his year, however, he has come back fighting and a tremendous performance against Hull FC last week encapsulated his importance to this Huddersfield side.
For the Giants, meanwhile, recruitment has been going steady with Watson confirming that he is on the lookout for a number of targets, though one man is expected to leave and that is powerful centre Ricky Leutele.
“We’ve got to a point now where we move on, Ricky hasn’t give us any indication,” Watson said.
He hasn’t told us what he’s doing. We are looking at other targets.
“We’ve spoken to his agent a couple of times and he keeps telling us he’s going to go somewhere else. That’s his prerogative but at this moment in time, Ricky still hasn’t told us.
“We can’t just keep waiting. We want to make sure we’re a top club.
We want to make sure we are a top club. Ricky has kept his cards close to his chest, but when he wants to tell us he will come to us.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

"STAR" don't have talk some crap, he is a very talented upcoming youngsters... but Star?
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Its a very sorry state for this league to see some of the best young players leave for the NRL before they really hit their stride

More paper talk, how can the Daily Telegraph "confirm" anything?

They always state how good they areat attacking rugby but its his defence thst will get severely tested in the nrl
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

Well, that's what NRL coaches are interested in seeing. Defence first. And second. And third. Attack fourth, if you're lucky.Firestarter wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 6:40 pm They always state how good they areat attacking rugby but its his defence thst will get severely tested in the nrl

Although, tbf, saying that, my gut feeling (based on no checking stats whatsoever) is that there's a lot more exciting attacking rugby being played nowadays in the NRL than, say, seven or eight years ago.
