Slightly different when a player agrees. If a player requests to leave you can obviously come to an agreement but unless another club comes in for Ellis, I doubt he would be inclined to just accept not having a job

i get that but having watched him all season he was never brilliant…..its just been lack of effort recently……not worth it being an import

Not disputing that at all. Don't see him being more than an average SL player at best. My point was purely on the whole 'release him' comment.

Gave his all but sadly not good enough for Wigan. We have younger players out playing him and I think his lack of size will be detrimental to his ability to progress.

I do however fully expect him to settle at Salford and find his level there.
