He does seem happy at Wigan.
Also don’t understand why he would rush back to the NRL, he’s only 23/24. He can make an even better rep for himself over here and get more clubs after him.
Unless he’s homesick

Not sure re Cust I was told he was very happy here. I know we are already in contact with agents re back row which is pretty obvious. Also re prop situation things changed pre season as we was looking but that was shelved when players returned. Think you can read into that Matty got what he had asked for with attitude/fitness of one's involved hopefully it turns out like it did with Field.

Decisions about retentions normally have to be made around May.

Personally I’m not sure Cust, Mago or Ellis deserve an extension given their form last year.

Hopefully all 3 have big starts to the year now they are more settled.

Miski obviously will go.

You can’t be serious about cust? He had a very good first year in my opinion. Nothing flashy but did the work to give smith a bit more freedom and we missed him when he wasn’t in the halves

The stats show Ellis was comfortably our best Prop in 2022.

i wouldnt want cust or ellis to go back yet or move on, mago is very hit and miss, but hopefully he will kick on this season and will prove the doubters wrong.

not sure about keeping king, so far is the preseason friendly seems to be flying out the line and missing tackles. but we will see!

Deflinety need to look at a 1 if not 2 second rowers for 2024 imo

The one that's already getting offers from the NRL?
Rather be at Wigan than Penrith
Would be good
Just about everybody would rather be in Wigan than in Cumbria, Meds :D

Any news on a 2nd row for 2024 or before? Faz can’t go on forever, Isa is past it and KPP is leaving.

As to Wane getting a more hands on role if his England job comes to an end, I am sorry but why? Peet is the coach and doesn’t need Wane hovering over him. This really would be another Rads “jobs for the boys” appointment if it comes to pass.

Can't see Wigan doing that re coaching set up it would be like a demotion for the current staff could also have an unsettling effect. Obviously he's a vast amount of knowledge and I can't imagine he's not involved already.
We are looking for a back row according to my mate who's a bit of a casual Wigan fan but he's mates with an agent so gets the odd snip. The prop situation according to him is on hold to see how things go.

Just because a few of the vocal minority spew jobs for boys doesn't make it true, neither does dismissing example of why it isn't and clinging to the same old examples of why it is.

Plenty of clubs have had roles such as director of rugby and to success as well.
But hell, why would we want a trophy winning rugby geek known for his ability to motivate people involved in the club.
