I wish we had a player like Croft, I do not think Cust is a quality 6, if we had a line breaking 6 like Croft, Field / French / Marshall would be unstoppable in support - Most of our tries this year with a half back involved have come via Smith looking at the SL stats. There is a big thread on halves on this forum, ours need to get us playing quicker.
Cust is not a 6 he is a hooker who is masquerading as a 6.
I agree Cust is not a 6 and does not seem effective there, he's had a season to find his feet now with limited improvement. The question is if Cust is a 9, then who plays 6??

Wigan

1F ield
2 French
3 King
4 Wardle
5 Marshall
6 Cust
7 Smith
8 Singleton
9 Powell
10 Byrne
17 Pearce-Paul
12 Farrell
13 Smithies

Substitutes
15 Ellis
16 Havard
14 Cooper
22 O'Neill

No Willie Isa. I see Salford testing our right edge defence.

French might be one of the best finishers in the game but he’s very dubious under the high ball

Hes never been good under the high ball barney….. thats why i couldn’t understand why we were fretting when he was rumoured to be going the NRL….. great attacker though….., my main worry is what do lockers and tommy add to this team? Briers yes but, as meds would say, in this instance its defo jftb

Think we kept him for his immense finishing, not for anything else.
We’re missing Briers I think, Brisbane look a different team with him there
