Apologies I was referring to the marquee players mentioned. Surely where has Batemans cap allowance gone?

They do have money available but nowhere near the £150k allowed for Bateman. The Pearl1 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 4:41 pmOn what? KPP
Mago
Miski
Cust
Singleton
Silva
Cooper (I’ve not been overly impressed)
Offer Ellis a new deal, Isa another deal on squad player money.
In
NRL prop pack leader
JWH might fancies a few years in Europe to end his career seems to have build a good relationship with Wigan over the years ( WCCs, Madge night, close with Tommy etc)
Jordan McLean cowboys is off contract 6 foot 5 19 stone. Only got a one year extension with the cowboys so a 2/3 year deal could tempt.
(replacing Batemans and Coopers wage)
Tom Davies - pace, English, good ball carry, knows the club (replacing Cust wage)
Sam Eseh - project signing, looks a raw talent who could kick on in our system (replacing Silvas)
Owen Trout - young, English, tall athletic (replacing Singletons)
Chris Satae/ NRL prop impact prop off the bench (replacing Magos)
NRL back rower in the Mau’tatia Sironen type
Look at the offcontract list I’d look at Tariq Sims (bit old but played origin just last year, brothers came to SL, good stop gap)
Or Tyson Frizell always admired how he’s played but maybe been off the boil in recent years.
(Replacing KPP and Miski)
Toby King (probably another years loan then permanent after his contract expires)
French
Davies
King
Wardle
Marshall
Field
Smith
Byrne
Powell
JWH/McLean
Sims/Frizell
Farrell
Smithies
Havard
Satae/NRL prop
O’Neill
Ellis
Shorrocks
Trout
Isa
Thornley (keep as cover if he can stay fit this year)
Hampshire (see Thornley)
Hill
Nsemba
Astley
Eseh
Douglas
Eckersley
Forber
Think that’s realistic looking at salaries. Just about getting the right players from the NRL which is tricky.
Looks a serious squad with a good mix of youth and experience IMO.

Can you elaborate? It doesn’t make sense given he was last one out of the door.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 8:54 pmThey do have money available but nowhere near the £150k allowed for Bateman. The Pearl1 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 02, 2023 4:41 pmOn what? No I can't but the information has come from an inside source. The only thing I will say is that we have two marquee players currently on our books.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 7:48 amCan you elaborate? Well yeah, let’s say Bateman and French were marquees before Bateman left.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:24 amNo I can't but the information has come from an inside source. Field will be over the marquee threshold so will have taken a marquee spot.
Thus leaving Fields salary available.
You’re not making sense
Re: Potential swap
I dont think there is one, its upto the club to choose which salary is used for this, youd think it was the 2 largest salaries as it makes sense tooThe Pearl1 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:35 amWell yeah, let’s say Bateman and French were marquees before Bateman left.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:24 amNo I can't but the information has come from an inside source. Let me make up numbers to explain
French on 220k
Bateman on 200k
Field on 180k
French and Bateman marque players so they are only on the cap for £150k each, with field still being on the cap for £180k.
Bateman leaving means Field will become marque and on the cap for £150k.
Meaning his £180k salary space becomes available.
Still can’t understand where the Charriots Offiah thinks Batemans salary cap space has gone, we can still being using 2 marques but the cap space should still be there.

And who are they please??
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Mate, I can only say so much otherwise the guy who told me may get into a little trouble. All I will add is that some of Bateman’s salary has been spent on other players and if he had stayed we would have had a problem with the salary cap.The Pearl1 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 10:26 amYeah I just mean over the £150kpedro wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 10:05 amI dont think there is one, its upto the club to choose which salary is used for this, youd think it was the 2 largest salaries as it makes sense tooThe Pearl1 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 03, 2023 9:35 am
