Another thing you have to factor in is Knowles’ previous record, he has been cited 9 times since the beginning of 2022. It would appear, given those figures, that he either knows what he is doing or is not clever enough to learn his lesson.

9 times in front of the beaks in 15 months and a career ending injury caused to a player? You have to say a 5 match ban is simply not enough. Knowles should have been banned for a minimum of 12 months at least if not 2 years.

Why Morgan Knowles might not serve full five game ban in Super League

The tackle in question that Knowles was found guilty of dangerous contact for resulted in the injury of Wigan man Mike Cooper, who is now out for 9-12 months.

However, there is good news for St Helens and that is that Knowles will likely not miss five Super League fixtures.

This is because within the next five weeks the international break takes place as England take on France.

This means that if selected he can serve one of his games then and if not the Saints can use the reserves fixture that weekend as one of the games he serves his suspension for.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Would Wane do them a favour by selecting him though?

Sounds like it doesnt really matter. If he doesnt get selected for England, then Saints can use the reserve fixture that same weekend, so in effect its 4 league games + 1 other

No different to when Bateman got banned and used a friendly so he could play in the world cup

And that's a joke. Five matches should mean five, proper SL matches.
