No chance of playing at Boltom.
Why?
The pitch is immaculate because it only gets used for football!
More likely, it is immaculate because its not built on a swamp :) :)

The latics cause more damage to the DW pitch, than any rugby match. the pitch is virtually perfect by the time the football has finished on it, and when they start up again. However, when we are looking to play our 1st games of the season it is a right mess

Discussion about wear and tear on pitches always brings to mind when "New Hunslet" played at Elland Road, then owned by Leeds City Council.

The pitch was in a bit of a state and the football fans blamed rugby. Strangely enough the bare patches were worst in each goalmouth!

That’s because the head groundsman at Wigan says he knows there are two sports played at the DW but, the most damage is caused by the football.

Obviously Bolton have enough time to repair their pitch after a game of soccer before the next one is played.

I think our groundsmen do a terrific job under the circumstances at the DW.

So are you saying Wigan won’t be playing at Bolton because they want to keep the pitch in good order? If so, that is a strange reason for turning down income, especially when they are promoting a bond issue.

Well it's a parochial name someone mentioned the"gant" even more local so I'll add the White bridge or even the May flower" or even the "breeding pond" that's more than responsible for the swamp the pitch was laid on
