Zach is down as a FB and Centre, he’s not getting in over French or Fields at FB. So that leaves Centres which we have two of. Up until recently King has been good and has made this weeks squad so chances are the club are backing him. The size comment to me he doesn’t look the biggest and I’m happy to be proven wrong and he does get game time and kicks on but it can easily go the other way we’re he’s introduced to soon in a side low on form. I trust the club will put the lad in when it’s right and aLeo be having discussions with him
Have I not just done exactly that? I really don't get this comment at all. He's 6' 3"!!! He must have a really bad stoop or something...
People bang on about size - if you front or back rower its not really a concern bloody hell Rob Burrow probably couldnt get on a ride at alton towers when he was playing and was one of the best to do it!
We use our centres as metre eaters who do the tough carries and generally you need a bit of size to be effective in that role.

Wrong choice of words I meant his overall i mean his weight his overall build. We’ll have to wait and see what happens but i believe everyone’s bricking it because he will do a Nicholson. I don’t think the wage had nothing to do with his decision also. We could givey the lad a few games and he still goes

I'm sorry I'm labouring this point but you keep saying the same thing as if it's true rather than just admitting you were wrong. For the last time he is heavier than Wardle and slightly less than King. If you're insistent on saying someone isn't big enough then it would have to be Wardle as he is the smallest of the 3! However, I'm sure you don't think Wardle is too small so I'm at a complete loss as to why you think a bigger player is too small?! It simply makes no sense whatsoever.

I didn’t say anything is true every post on this site is in someone’s opinion. He doesn’t look filled out to me doesn’t look ready. Maybe he’ll get a game like the young ones did against Huddersfield and KR last year

No, mate and that is exactly the point. It isn't opinion. If you have a view on whether a player is good enough or not, that's a valid opinion. Someone's size is not opinion...it's fact. It's a fact that he's 6' 3" and heavier than Wardle and you can't say he isn't and then try to qualify it by saying it's an opinion!

That's the trouble with these forums. Despite what you and others think, not everything is subject to opinion.

As for your point about him not having filled out, you're probably right. Few 19 year olds have fully developed. However that doesn't change what size he is now nor entitle you to suggest that he isn't big enough. In fact let me ask you this: How big is big enough for a centre?

LEE was a last minute signing for the Dolphins only this year.I tend to take notice of what Bennett does. Sharp thinker.

I’m not sure he’s filled out enough yet to get first team rugby at SL. I’d like Wigan to give him another year and maybe get him in a SL side see how he matches up. All I’ve heard about this Lee chap doesn’t sound good. Especially the part about the injuries. I hope the club can start to make some shrewd signing and clear out who needs to go
The desire to chuck in kids by some fans is baffling.

Eckersley is a top prospect..but a prospect non the less. Next year will hopefully be mainly on loan with a recall clause and the year after he probably needs regular first team exposure. With a view to being a regular starter in 2026 if he passes the development tests in 24 & 25.

Lee is a very good player. He was playing Origin 3 years ago and played in a winning Grand Final team. He is very highly rated by Wayne Bennett as a player.

The elephant in the room is obviously his injury record which has prevented him from kicking on.

If King leaves as seem likely we desperately need to replace him with a senior centre.

Lee would be a huge risk because if his injury record but for some to claim he is “average” is wide of the mark.

The policy could be that we are willing to accept his injury record knowing we have Eckersley waiting as cover so he gets some exposure without being 100% reliant on him to step up for the duration of the season.
Stop using your common sense John. Let us not forget that Thornley could also be retained to provide cover.
Cover for who? The tea lady? If we retain Thornley it will be another indication those handling recruitment/retention need to be shown the door.

Second SL club declares interest in Dolphins centre Brenko Lee to rival Wigan Warriors

A second Super League club has declared their interest in signing NRL centre Brenko Lee from The Dolphins.

Earlier in the week, The Mole at the Wide World of Sports declared that Lee had been subject to interest from the Wigan Warriors, who will be losing Toby King back to parent club Warrington Wolves for 2024.

As such, Wigan will have to fight the Catalans Dragons for Lee’s signature, League Express understands.

The Dragons currently have Matt Ikuvalu, Matthieu Laguerre, Arthur Romano and Adam Keighran able to play in the centres which could perhaps to one of those departing the Stade Gilbert Brutus in order to make way for Lee.

27-year-old Lee has endured a torrid time with injuries over a ten-year spell in the NRL, playing just 87 games during his time Down Under.

The centre debuted for the Canberra Raiders back in 2014, scoring 12 tries in 15 appearances before making the switch to Canterbury Bulldogs and then the Gold Coast Titans.

Later spells at Melbourne Storm and Brisbane Broncos paved the way for a move to The Dolphins ahead of the 2023 NRL season where has since impressed.
