Wouldn’t it be nice if we relegated them when they visit the DW.

I wonder I wonder if a certain Mr Powell is about to return?

If Salford fold, and they stay up, it'll be a tragedy.

Going down. No matter what.
I have supported Wigan RL since the late 80s. First game was a cup tie v Barrow. Also a fan of football and Speedway. Have a varied taste in music.

Castleford Tigers close in on coaching appointment with Super League survival on the line
The Tigers believe they have found their man.
Castleford Tigers hope to announce Danny Ward as the club's new head coach today after identifying him as their top target for the position. The Tigers have moved quickly to secure a new head coach following Andy Last's exit on Friday and Ward has been made their primary focus.
The Tigers confirmed their intention to unveil their new head coach on Wednesday and with that day now arriving, it is hoped that they will secure a deal by the end of the day.
Rugby League Live revealed the Tigers intended to find a coach who would lead them until the end of the season, at which point they would make a long-term decision. That, naturally, narrowed down their search to candidates currently out of the game and made Ward one of the most attractive options.
A former Castleford player, Ward earned great praise for his stint at London Broncos, guiding them to an unlikely promotion to Super League in 2018 before they were narrowly relegated the year after, despite being the overwhelming favourites for the drop. London went down that year with the best win percentage and highest number of victories of any relegated side in Super League history.
If a move is completed, he will now find himself embroiled in another relegation battle and his first match would arguably be the club's most important match since the last time they were relegated in 2006. The Tigers take on their relegation rivals, Wakefield Trinity next Friday in what promises to be a four-pointer for the West Yorkshire rivals. Castleford have played in two major finals in recent years but this game could prove to have Super League status on the line.
He inherits a squad badly lacking confidence after a dreadful campaign, winning just four of their 22 matches this season. Their last outing was a 28-0 defeat to Huddersfield Giants, which resulted in Last being sacked.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Last sacked by Castleford
Im confused about this season
First i thought there was relegation, then it seemed like the overwhelming opinion was there was none this year now it seems there is again
Either way personally i think its time for wakefield to bow out they bring absolutely nothing to the comp and have never looked like they will. At least Cas have had periods of sort of success

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

Both clubs bring nothing to the game & in regards to supporters, especially away supporters. They’ve been saying for years about rebuilding their respective stadiums at least Wakefield are trying now to address that.Wigan_forever1985 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 09, 2023 12:15 pm Im confused about this season

There are several clubs in the Championship with excellent grounds but unable to build success on the field.
If anything I’d sooner have Wakey than Cas if we have to keep one or the other.

At least Wakey have finally put a new stand up more than "we have planning permission" Cas ever will do.
