Mago
Anyone heard about him picking up an injury in Perpignan?
Re: Mago
Iced up and crutches to keep weight off it hope it settles with Eliss out for a game and Dupree failed HIA plus Havard and Cooper we are a little light.
Shorrocks to 13, Byrne Smithies KPP Hill props and Jnr to second row is about all we have fingers crossed for Mago and O'Neil.

Thanks Lucky. When did Mago get injured, he looked fine at the final whistle. It was reported that O’Neill might have broken his ribs but you don’t play rugby with that type of injury. Hopefully just bruising.lucky 13 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 8:59 pm Iced up and crutches to keep weight off it hope it settles with Eliss out for a game and Dupree failed HIA plus Havard and Cooper we are a little light.

Patrick Mago showcases appeal to rival clubs amid Wigan Warriors contract admission
Mago is off-contract at the end of the season.
Matt Peet's admission that Patrick Mago has yet to receive an offer from Wigan Warriors for the 2024 season won't have gone unheard by clubs looking to finalise their recruitment plans for next year.
Mago, the powerful Warriors forward, is off-contract at the end of the season and the fact Wigan have yet to offer him a new contract would indicate he is unlikely to remain at the DW Stadium next season. Mago is free to speak to other clubs as it stands.
In complete honesty, it wouldn't have been a major surprise to see Mago depart. There have been rumblings throughout the season, going as far back as the off-season, of a potential exit for the 28-year-old, either on loan or permanently. It has felt like Wigan have been planning without him and when Tyler Dupree was signing, a prop with a similar frame and playing style, the writing appeared on the wall.
But in recent weeks, Mago has emerged as one of Super League's in-form props. This was best demonstrated by the explosive carry he took in the victory over Catalans Dragons, a clip that has done the rounds on social media.
Stats perfectly demonstrate the spike in his performances. He has made over 100 metres in four of his last five appearances. He had only hit that milestone twice in his previous 14 outings. His average gain per carry in the last five games has been 8.33 metres. That puts him right up there with the best-performing props across the season, with only Sebastine Ikahihifo and Tom Amone averaging higher.
His tally of eight tackle busts against Catalans was his highest of the season and his total of 18 busts in his last four appearances compares to 22 in his previous 15 Super League outings. Even defensively he has improved, with the number of tackles he has made increasing by 12.4 per cent.
Peet summed it up best when he simply stated: "Basically, he's playing better than he was." Mago has proven he can be a point of difference in a team, and that's what will be of appeal to rival clubs. It's no secret that clubs across Super League are always looking for forwards that can bring size. The British game does a good job of producing middles with good work rates and intensity but compared to the Southern Hemisphere, there is an obvious size difference. Mago provides something others can't.
The challenge, of course, is ensuring his recent form is maintained. That's down to the coaches to decide. But at a time when several clubs are still chasing middles, you suspect Mago will now come into the conversation. Durability hasn't been an issue, with the former South Syndey Rabbitohs talent playing over 50 games for Wigan in just over two seasons. Finances, as is the case with every signing, will be a factor.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
