Jenna Brooks announced on Friday evening that Brodie Croft would be moving to Leigh Leopards
Leigh Leopards' coach, Adrian Lam, has found himself addressing rumours linking his team to a shock deal for Salford Red Devils' marquee halfback, Brodie Croft. However, Lam's response was far from what fans might have expected.
With a smile, he shut down the links, but joked that he'd love to get such a deal done and even extended an open invitation, jesting that if anyone could pass Croft's number to him, he'd be more than happy to have a chat. Sky Sports' Jenna Brooks broke the "news" just minutes before Leigh's play-off defeat to Hull KR, who ended the Leopards' 2023 season at Craven Park on Friday evening.
Addressing the media in the aftermath of seeing his side being dumped out of the Super League play-offs, Lam was quizzed about what would be a major transfer for the Challenge Cup winners. However, it doesn't seem to be the case, as the Leigh coach was unaware of the "deal" in the first place.
Is that right? That's the first I've heard about it. It would be great if that was the case, it'd be nice to talk to him, you can give him my number if you like! I haven't spoken to him whatsoever. There's nothing there."
Leigh are expected to sign Hull FC's Ben McNamara and NRL veteran Anthony Milford to complement Lachlan Lam in 2024, so it's unlikely we will see Croft wearing Leopard print anytime soon.
