You'd certainly think it's an area where a few bob should be spent.

Mike wrote: Mon Oct 09, 2023 1:22 am Sounds like it was better when all the season tickets holder used to sleep outside central park waiting for them to let you shuffle through and buy challenge cup final tickets. Great memories from doing that with my grand parents. BTW you didn't really know where you were going to be when you got the paper tickets back then - just the prices and the row and seat number.

Sounds like it was a crazy decision not to limit tickets to 2 per season ticket holder for a day or two. Very surprised that didn't happen, it's standard practice.

I have no doubt the clubs ticketing will improve in the next few years. I get the impression that the football team forced our ticketing to change this year by blocking us from using their system. We should be able to invest in a much more functional efficient system with new ownership. This is all from an outsiders perspective - I'm just guessing.
I was outside at 3.45 & there were 2 guys in front of me, chickens wondered what I was doing as I opened the coops up at 3am!

I knew the guy who used to be over the ticket office & I asked why he left , he said the system was very outdated, & you couldn’t get them to invest in a new system. The Latics ruled the ticket office & like Mike said, they forced the away ticket sales to be moved because they wanted most, or so I was told, or all, can’t remember which now, of the profit to go to the football.

And for all of you complaining about the staff, they worked extremely hard yesterday. They got all the different blocks & price tickets all together & had to sort out all the blocks & price variations before they could put them on sale.

They, as well as the fans, weren't used to the tickets in the Stretford end, & tickets were just allocated at the price you wished to pay, you didn’t know where you where your seat was, we hadn’t been in that stand since 2004, & never got to a Grand Final again until 2010 when we were put in the East stand, & were allocated that stand every time we got to the final where we got to see the most success.

Yes, it should have been ST holders first, then members before they went on general sale, so don’t know what went wrong there.

An absolute shambles once again, you could not even select a block when purchasing online, absolutely pathetic system to use when purchasing tickets, I paid £70 for two tickets which is essentially a lucky dip.

I could be sat right at the bottom so looking directly at players ankles and therefore can't see any of the action on field or sat in a corner, an absolutely disgusting way to treat fans and not even a season ticket holder priority either, if I am paying for something I want to know what I am getting not just taking a chance on some seats that I would never ever buy, this has been another absolute shambles of a system to purchase tickets, no wonder the phone lines were not open, they didnt want to deal with all the calls from disgruntled fans.

As long as you live close enought to drive and queue up you are given prefferential treatment, so your average joe who has never even been to a game all season, but lives across the road from the stadium, can waltz up and take all the prime seats, well thank you once again Wigan Warriors (Loyal 18 my arse) for the worst experience of me spending £70 of my hard earned money, a call to the ticket office this morning is on the cards for me, to see if they can find where my seats are and either swap them if they are crap or give me a refund.

Think that has always been the case with online bookings with the RFL ticketing also. Don’t blame the club or the girls in the ticket office for that! If you need to blame anyone it’s the useless fecking idiots at the RFL😠

That’s why people who could, went to queue up to get particular seats/blocks! No preferential treatment I was there for almost 6 hours before they went on sale!

The only game I’ve missed this season was Catalan away! I even make sure the doctors for appointments or hospital for any operations I need either do not interfere with the rugby or have to be outside of the season.
I cancelled my flu injection on Saturday which was originally at 12.30 when I found out we would be playing & kicking off at 12.45. When my doctor found out she told me to come at 9am. So I was parked up at Robin Park at 9.50!!

It’s always somebody else’s fault!

Oh sorry I forgot it's all my fault that I don't live in Wigan and was unable to make it down to the ticket office yesterday, so anyone who does live 'local' can just walk up and buy whatever they want for wherever they want, albeit it sounds like that was a farce as well.

I forgot that it is my fault that season ticket holders were not given preference over general walk up's and were allowed to buy 50 tickets in one go where in previous years it was ST holders first and were allowed, I think it was up to 4, per season ticket.

I forgot that it is my fault that when purchasing tickets for previous Grand Finals you could select a block and the system randomly generated seats for you, if you didnt like them you cancelled then it generated othes.
I forgot that it is my fault that I should have cancelled any plans my daughter had yesterday just so I could go to the ticket office and probably like many others walk away with no tickets.

I forgot that it is my fault that the ticket office is now suposed to be open for phone sales but when you ring it says it is closed, I really should sort myself out with all this ineptitude.

I get the RFL are f***wits and allocationg 8K tickets initially is just bonkers but I bet a lot of the other things I have mentioned above regardins ST priority and limiting numbers sold is in control of the club, the club has to take responsibility for a lot of the debarcle going on at the moment.

I also get it Josie, you are a super fan and for some reason no matter what you seem to control the NHS, doctors and others, us mere mortals who have appointments cancelled through no fault of our own have to wait months for another.

I will no doubt see you at the Grand Final, but you will probably not see me as I will be the one probably sat right at the bottom of the stand with the only view I have is looking at the players ankles when they are stood behind the sticks.

You can pick your seat on the RFL ticketing website. I always buy from the RFL for the cup final and grand final as you just know getting tickets from Wigan is going to be a complete hassle. I bought 2 extra tickets from the RFL yesterday (already had 4) and was able to pick the row and seat number I wanted .
Given up on trying to renew our season tickets as I keep getting error signs saying they arn't available or have been sold to someone else . The whole set up is not fit for purpose and unless they sort it ASAP a lot of people are going to give up on it and pay per game which I personally don't want to do .

They’ve sold out the allocation they were given 8000 & are waiting for more from the RFL.

Knowing our club, as they’ve done it before for SL tickets that have sold out, someone will be driving to the RFL headquarters to pick up the tickets rather than wait for them to be delivered.

I would like to think that when Wigan were given only 8k tickets they protested in the strongest manner and then would know if more were not forthcoming the would have to limit sales to a reasonable amount per person.
At the beginning of this season I was under the impression the commercial department was having a good look at themselves and firefighting the obvious problems they had . Either they have failed or I was mistaken . Either way this kind of crap service has been going on too long .

FFS I never said it was your fault! But it’s always someone else’s.

No I do not control the NHS, but when my doctors & specialists know & understand my feelings for my club & how it affects my health, they try their best to accommodate me!

And yes, I probably am a “Super Fan" I’ve supported the club from near & far for 63 years

You probably will see me at Old Trafford as I too am in the lower tier in the west Stretford end, so please do come & say hello as I say to everyone. I may not always remember you but you will always remember me 😊
