Because they can. Even if they sign 10 and 1 or 2 turn out ok for them that's a success. And their is no supposedly about It Josie. The NRL is head and shoulders above SL. I am not sure it is. There has always been a transfer market in RL within this country but it has never worked in the way we see players being enticed down under. In this country unless a club is strapped for cash like Salford you have next to no chance of prizing a clubs best players away (junior or senior). Clubs here can make an enquiry about another clubs player but it is by no means inevitable it will result in a transfer. If welsby played for Wakefield we could turn his head. He would want to play at higher level. This is the reason why the NRL can attract SL players.
