My first mate in Yorkshire when I moved here as a 15 year old was a Wakey fan. We agreed to do alternate weeks watching either team.

The days of Neil Fox, Ian Brooke, ? Coetzer, ? Round, Harold Poynton - they are the names I remember.
Neil Fox was a phenomenal goalkicker, and Poynton a classy stand-off.

They beat us at Wembley in 1963.

I was told on Saturday at the fireworks display, again, that we would be loaning several players to Wakey next season 😊
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I can see this being true for Eseh, Hill, Eckersley and Douglas at the very least.

I wouldn't be surprised if we did something similar with Oldham ;)
