Feka Paleaaesina to depart Hull FC after a decade of service to the club

Paleaaesina joined Hull FC in 2014.

Hull FC have confirmed that Player Welfare Manager and former player Feka Paleaaesina will leave the club after the Christmas period. He will take up a new role away from rugby league while remaining in the UK with his family.

Paleaaesina joined Hull in 2014 from French club Limoux Grizzlies and instantly became a cult hero. Before that, he played for Wigan Warriors, Salford Red Devils, and New Zealand Warriors and was also a Kiwi international during an outstanding playing career.

He has been at Hull for a decade, having retired in 2016 to become the club’s Player Welfare Manager. He made 49 appearances in the Black and White.

Paying tribute, the club said in a statement: “Paleaaesina has decided the time is right for a new career challenge and to allow him more time to focus on his family, including his son Caleb, who also plays for the Black and Whites’ scholarship programme

He was presented with a framed signed jersey on Thursday evening as off-field and performance staff came together to say farewell to Feka at a club event ahead of the Christmas break.

Everyone at Hull FC would like to thank Feka for his decade of service to the club, and we send our best wishes for the future to him and his family, who will all be special guests of the club at the Super League opener against Hull KR in February. We all look forward to still seeing Feka around the club as a parent and supporter next season.”
