Tanya Arnold on ‘huge’ BBC deal, potential audience & end of Super League Show

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

prime time Saturday night on free to air TV, and yet we still complain
Welcome to the world of rugby league fans! If we're not complaining about the administrators, the refs, the commentators, the opposition, etc etc, then we complain about those who are complaining . . . says he, looking in the mirror

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I liked C4's coverage too, but the BBC has a much bigger potential audience than Channel Four.

Don't like the idea of losing the Superleague Show, though, poor as it was. So now rugby league has no regular highlights show on terrestrial TV, unlike football and rugby union. Not everyone has access to the web-site.

i think a good start for the BBC coverage yesterday

nice bit of build up and post match. Not the coverage of the CC in the 80s/90s when Steve "rugby league" ryder couldnt wait get it off the box, and we were cut short cos of horse racing, tiddly winks, football ht scores and anything else they could interrupt the coverage with

There was also a prime time advert on BBC 1 last night (8-10pm) for the WCC next Saturday, so positive start and looking forwards to watching a game on BBC every Saturday tea time now :)
