WIGAN WARRIORS ARE DELIGHTED TO OFFER AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO TRAIN ALONGSIDE OUR WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM AND GIRLS ACADEM

Post by josie andrews »

The experience, which is open to girls aged 11-16 of all abilities, will take place at Robin Park Arena on Wednesday 21 February as part of a week of activity leading up to the Betfred World Club Challenge.

The sessions, which are free to attend and led by our Women’s First Team and Girls Academy coaches, will involve small sided games to focus on core skill development.

On the night participants will take part in a training session which will be based on their age:

U12’s – Year 6 and 7 will train from 6-7pm (registration to take place at 5:45pm)

U14’s and U16’s – Year 8, 9, 10 and 11 will train from 7-8pm (registration to take place at 6:45pm)

Speaking on the opportunity, Wigan Warriors Rugby Development Manager, John Whalley said: “We are very proud to be able to hold a training session on one night that will involve players across all ages from our Girls Community game, Girls Pathway and Academy in partnership with Greenmount Projects, and our Women’s Super League side in partnership with Main Sponsor CSC2 Ltd.’

“It’s a fantastic opportunity which will provide plenty of fun and enjoyment for everyone.”

Participants will be able to take part in the training sessions for FREE, however, a booking must be made in advance HERE.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
