Yet again we buy a thirty odd year old australian who is persistently injured.
I know that any player of any age can become injured, ie hock etc but the odds on one of this age must be higher.
Name me one australian player around the age of 30 that wigan have bought in the last five years that hasnt suffered a high level of injuries. ie pongia, smith, lam, davico, johns etc etc etc

To be fair Fletchers problems not one caused by rugby, it could happen to anyone of any age and it can be very serious. Be thankful Fletchers recovering!

But on the other hand, he is a former Kangaroo test player, state of origin captain, Sydney Roosters and Souths captain, a great leader and player who has a lot to offer the club. Granted he is 30+ but mixed with the youth of the team we have a great combination of skill, leadership and enthusiasm. I can't wait til 11th Feb, I have a good feeling about this year.

listen....injury prone or not a squad that lacks experience will be lacking in points at the end of the season. look what happened last year. young lads couldnt do the job and look were we ended up. experience and youth mixed makes a good strong squad....you say we go round buying 20 year olds, they may be good but they lak experience and we need the rugby knowledge and awareness on the field.

Any player could of got it even the younger players you daft get.
This point could have been made without the last 3 words. I was hoping that we could start 2006 in a slightly more friendly light, so I'll make this announcement now and hope I don't need to again later in the year
PLEASE CUT OUT THE INSULTS AGAINST OTHER POSTERS! Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean they are an idiot, moron, cretin, "daft get", or whatever, so please do not use such insults in your messages. You can argue with people without it getting personal.
BTW that's directed at everyone, not just Pie Eaters. I got tired of warning people last year, so this year I might start asking for bans instead.
Happy New Year from your friendly, green, moderator.

The sentiments expressed are akin to Unions fans decrying Faz for being involved in a car crash and sustaining a non rugby injury. It seems a bit churlish and in poor taste to be using illness etc to beat people over the head with given the deaths of St John Ellis and Rogers. Perhaps we should blame the club for failing to forsee Mike Greg would get ill too
These ageing Aussies are truly awful buys. Gene Miles stank the the place down and can anybody remember Lammy ever having a good game
Ageism, well how about those young injury prone players, Loughlin, Hock. What on earth did the club think they were doing offering them extended contracts etc etc

That Rads bloke is hopeless too. Carney what a joke and thank God we got of Faz
We should be looking at Bradford. They had a successful coach, a quality team and early season injuries. Few lost games too. Noble out, Caisley out DOOM GLOOM
Wait didn't the Bulls win the GF, damn I forgot that.
O'Loughlin and Tickle on the right compensate for Fletcher. Hock is a miss, we are shorter on the left hand side but Hansen / Tomkins can cover. I hope we get to see Ashton in these meaningless friendlies
I am confident we will be okay
However for those more morbid amongst you I'll throw a bit of bad news in; Lee Jewitt has definetly emigrated to Australia.
Mike any chance you can put some funeral music on in the background

wigan set the standards last season with davico and the same should happen with fletcher.if he is going to be a long term injury for whatever the reason we should cancel the contract and move on. its just business!
