One of the Rhinos' all-time great players is understood to be returning to Headingley in 2025.

Leeds Rhinos have secured a stunning deal to bring club legend Ryan Hall back to Headingley. Rugby League Live understands the winger, a key member of the club's Golden Generation, has signed a deal which will see him return to the club in 2025.

Hall will leave Hull KR at the end of the season and is set to return to the club he is synonymous with after an iconic career. Hall won six Grand Finals, two World Club Challenges and two Challenge Cups during a trophy-laden 12 years with his boyhood club.

But now, six years after leaving the club for Sydney Roosters, Hall is believed to have agreeed to a deal which will see him return to have his final bow with the Rhinos, having signed an initial one-year contract. It's understood that Hall has been assured a job off the field once he decides to hang up the boots, whether that be at the end of next year or beyond.

Hull KR have confirmed that he will leave the club at the end of the season after four years in East Hull. During his time at the Robins he has remained a key performer and is now on the brink of breaking Danny McGuire's all-time try-scoring record, just three behind his former Rhinos teammate.

His return will delight supporters, with Hall still regarded as one of the club's greats. In 330 appearances for the club, Hall scored 223 tries, putting him fifth in the club's all-time charts. He is also England's all-time leading try scorer, scoring 39 times in 42 appearances for his country. He turns 37 later this year but has no desire to hang up the boots yet.

In a club statement, Robins head coach Willie Peters said: "Ryan (Hall) has been extremely supportive since I joined the club. He’s played a major role in our leadership group and also a major role in our on-field performances. His career speaks for itself with what he’s done in the game.

"Hally has helped to make Hull KR the team and club we are today and leave the club in a better position. By no means is Ryan’s time with Hull KR over yet. We’ve still got plenty to achieve. I know Ryan wants to leave Hull KR on a high. That’s the professional Hally is and always will be."

Hall leaves after making 83 appearances for Rovers, scoring 52 tries. He was part of the squad that played in the 2023 Challenge Cup Final.

It’s a shrewd signing for me bags of experience but it’s a telling sign at how far Leeds have lagged behind Wigan, saints and Catalan

Great player as he is and was if Ryan's signing is the limit of Hetherington's ambitions then Leeds are going nowhere.
It does appear that Leeds won't go anywhere until Hetherington departs.

Josh Charnley would have been a better buy going down the route of experienced but surely they have a young player in their set up .???

Agree with all the above. The sport in this country needs a better Leeds than this.

It's what comes after Hall's one year as a player.
Will he go into coaching or a DoR job as eventual successor to Hetherington?
Leeds certainly need a shake up and GH no longer seems the person to do it.

i'm afraid its going to take a lot more than Ryan Hall to get leeds back to anything like winning trophies or challenging for the top of the league again

Bringing one ex player back who was part of their success doesnt mean the culture will change over night. it takes time to build and develop a culture. We've seen what Matty Peet has achieved as coach at Wigan, but that started in the off season with the coach who is accountable. Hall will be a player and Smith (if hes still there) will be the one measured on the culture and changing it

My Leeds mate tells me it is a 1 year playing contract to mentor the young players before a guaranteed job with his maths and accounting qualifications in the commercial department.
