WIGAN WARRIORS TO SUPPORT TERRY NEWTON STATE OF MIND DINNER

Post by josie andrews »

We are delighted to announce that Wigan Warriors will be supporting the Terry Newton State of Mind Dinner on Saturday 14 September.

The event, sponsored by KHD Brokk Hire Ltd and FBW Engineering, will be held in the Heatable South Stand Lounge at The Brick Community Stadium and will get underway at 6pm.

Hosted by Pete Emmett, the evening will feature a range of special guests, music from ‘One Vision’ and a two-course meal.

The night will be dedicated to the memory of rugby league legend Terry Newton, who tragically took his own life in 2010, with proceeds from the event going to State of Mind to help fund our work in breaking the stigma that surrounds mental health in sports clubs, schools and businesses.

Wigan Warriors chief executive Kris Radlinski said: “Terry was such an important figure in the club’s history and all our lives. He became a cultural icon for his commitment and passion for the sport and the team.

“He was such a great guy to have on the field and to be in the changing room with. He left an eternal impression on our hearts and souls.

“To have a night of remembrance for him and to share some wonderful stories with his beloved teammates, and in the company of his family will be truly special.”

Tickets can be bought from the Wigan Warriors online club store, and also at the ground. For group bookings, please ensure all tickets are purchased in a single transaction to ensure you are seated together. When booking online please also advise of any dietary requirements or contact the hospitality team on 01942 762 890, email hospitality@wiganwarriors.com quoting your name and booking reference.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
