Seen a few people saying 'booked' what exactly have people booked, I can't see anywhere for sale tickets for the game and can only see the 'packages' that the Aussie site is offering, what are people actually booking?

The magic mushroom effect clearly in evidence Meds 💥😀

He's not spending anyone's money. Literally speaking he's simply giving his opinions. That's ok isn't it? I don't go to the games anymore. So what? I'm 80 now. Watched them since a lad of 12 years old. 40 odd years a season ticket holder. They were talking about expanding the game even then. Where are we now.... Still a Cinderella sport. So what just as long as you enjoy it. That's all that matters isn't it? " Christ on a bike". to quote Meds

I guess from Wigan's perspective there are a few potential issues I can think of.

1. Obviously fewer games for season ticket holders - interesting to see prices.
2. Reduced revenue "on the day" from other supporters
3. "Harder" game due to loss of home advantage
4. Potential knock on effects (e.g. Jet Lag)

Booked as an individual. I travel to the US 2 or 3 times a year, so like to choose my flights myself to use BA Avios for upgrades etc. I’ll book tickets via the club when they are released.

Ah right I see, I was wondering as a few people had said they had booked it, and on the above cutting from the Wigan website it says ticket and hotel packages go on sale from Tuesday 9th but couldn't see anything on the website, thought I was just being 'thick' and couldn't see for looking, thanks

General public tickets available on July 26th. I'm hoping they'll be in the $25 range. I'm also hoping we'll be allowed in and out of the stadium - 8 hours is a long time in a very expensive stadium!

Have to applaud the club for always striving to do these type of things but I get the groans from the season ticket holders and drawbacks of doing this.

I am struggling to envisage what this will actually achieve though other than potential sponsorship opportunities.

Let’s face it, we are not going to grow the sport in the US, nor is this venture going to lead to growth in England…

Yeah. There was growth in the US - Toronto being in SL created several projects to launch new pro-teams that would take the same route as the Wolfpack, including a well funded operation in New York. However the game killed that and threw away all the good will and momentum it had built up by killing Toronto. So to come back just a few years later, with no visible strategy or longer term plan seems stupid to me. Opportunism is fine, but you have to know specifically why you are doing this, and I've no confidence that anyone in the game or at the club is clear on what the short or long term benefits are.
