I would have loved to have seen him play, but what I gent 90 years old thats some age he really is a giant of the game.

I did, courtesy of my Dad taking me to Central Park, thatβs when I started to follow Wigan RL

What a legend. Can't be many people featuring in 3 statues in 3 different parts of the country.
Incredible he never got a knighthood. If only the current Minister for Sport had a link to Wigan...

I remember going to see him, with my dad, when he played for Blackpool Borough. He scored a try in the southeast corner of Borough Park, taking at least two defenders over with him. What a player!
