Top 6

Just been on RLFans on the Leeds forum where there is a discussion about their hopes of making the play-offs, so decided to look at the table and remaining fixtures, which there are some interesting ones coming up in the next 2 weeks
Leigh V KR and Wigan v Leeds this weekend
KR v Leeds, Leigh V Saints and Wigan v Salford following weekend

this is my comment
it s interesting to see the battle for top6 and that both Saints and Leeds could miss out

i've gone for Wigan with 42/44 points, KR 40/42, Wire 40, Salford 32/34, Leigh 31, then Saints, Catalan with 30 and Leeds with 28/30 as i've a feeling you'll poss beat KR if we tie up the league leaders shield this weekend

as a Wigan fan i'm hoping we play full strength from now one, and take our last 2 league games as must win to build some form and momentum going into the play offs

Catalan have on paper the easiest run in with Hull FC and London, and that may get them some points difference too and make 6th
Salford have Hull this weekend so should confirm their place in the play offs before playing Wigan next week
Leigh have 2 interesting games v KR and Saints, so could drop out the top6, but as one of your posters has said could quite easily turn Saints over too
Saints should beat Cas, and the game v Leigh could be a cracker if it means one of them dropping out, and there's some bad blood there from previous games too
Wire have the easiest games out of the top 3, but cant see both Wigan and KR slipping up to allow Wire to finish top
you've 2 tough games v Wigan and KR, and as i said above, if Wigan win this weekend, then KR may look to rest a couple and you beat them. Note i'm by no way taking Leeds lightly this weekend, and we'll need to perform to get a result

If my sort of prediction pans out then that leaves Leeds, Saints and Catalan all tied on 30 points, so down to points difference for the final play off spot

Don't we have to win the last two games to secure top spot as KR have a better points difference than us, so we cant afford a slip up, unless KR lose one on the way

to be guaranteed top spot then yes we need to win both, however, i have a hunch that Leigh may beat KR this weekend, so KR will then need to go and win v Leeds to ensure top 2. They may win both, and then thats over to us to make sure we do our job

Wire have the easiest run in but i dont think Wigan or KR will bugger up that much that Wire come back into the equation for top spot

and wouldnt it be sweet / strange if both Leeds and Saints missed the play offs

Its a very interesting 6 this year. I think the one thing that's for sure is #1 is better than #2. I'd like to avoid Warrington, and there's not much to pick between the rest in terms of threat in the semi.

Agree 100%, Mike.

Maybe wishful thinking, but I'm hoping for 2 wins for Leigh, our "Brothers of the Borough" That would help us and stuff Saints. The Lobby Gobblers have won 9 in a row I believe, and can finish 4th, which could mean we meet them in the semis.

Got to be us v Rovers at OT to give Sam B and his men another opportunity to blame anyone but themselves. What's the chant about 1955?

Saints are still our biggest threat. Make no mistake about that.Ide rather play KR or wire anyday before them tbh
