Salford fixture has been re-arranged

Post by @KingdonMorris »

In case you are unaware, the final game next week, at home v Salford, has been moved to 8pm Thursday.

BBC website still has it as Friday, but Sky have decided to move it.

It always seems to be our games that are moved with such short notice!

Several people I’ve spoke to won’t be able to attend due to work commitments & a couple I know are taking their disabled son to a Take That tribute act as he likes their music & booked Thursday instead of Friday 🤨

I forgot, some fans who travel & book a hotel for overnight stay are now having to see if they can change their stay from Friday to Thursday. Probably won’t make much of a difference but it’s the hassle!

For once it’s worked in our favour as we are watching Book of Mormon Friday afternoon in Manchester so given the state of trains it could have been a bit of a tight fit to do both so like I say for once I’m happy with the change

R27 Fixture Amendment

WIGAN WARRIORS CAN CONFIRM THAT OUR R27 FIXTURE AT THE BRICK COMMUNITY STADIUM AGAINST SALFORD RED DEVILS WILL NOW TAKE PLACE ON THURSDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER (8PM K.O.) DUE TO BROADCAST SELECTION.

The fixture will be shown exclusively on Sky Sports, with Wigan needing a win to secure the 2024 Betfred League Leaders’ Shield.

All tickets that have already been purchased will still be valid for the Thursday fixture. If you have already purchased a ticket and cannot attend this date, a full refund can be claimed by contacting The Brick Community Stadium on email: tickets@wiganwarriors.com or via phone: 01942 311 111.

Just found out about the change sitting on platform 5 at North Western this morning . Now on the Avanti to Edinburgh trying to change hotels trains and flights from Belfast. The trials of being at the beck and call of Sky . I know they call the tune but 6 days notice is a bit of a cheek methinks .

Surely they have to also move the Hull KR game to Thursday or else they could field a weakened team on the Friday if Wigan win and the league is gone?

They’d only drop to 3rd if they lose and Warrington win their next 2 and overcome a big points difference of 82.

Its odd as it takes some of the drama out of the final games.
