Super League champions Wigan Warriors have forged a partnership with NFL outfit New York Giants following their historic quadruple-winning 2024 campaign, Love Rugby League can reveal.

Matt Peet’s men completed an unprecedented clean sweep of World Club Challenge, Challenge Cup, League Leaders’ Shield and Super League trophy this year.

Those achievements have put Peet and his side in line for the BBC Sports Personality Coach of the Year and Team of the Year awards at the prestigious awards ceremony on December 17.

Now, Love Rugby League can reveal that Peet, chief executive Kris Radlinski and assistant coaches Sean O’Loughlin and Tommy Leuluai spent the past week in the Big Apple with the Giants.

I take your point given the Giants' results recently but these NFL teams are world leaders in terms of physical preparation etc. Good to see us keen to look for improvements from other sports. My only surprise is that we don't seem to have sent any of our fitness people.

They can't tackle though, the Seahawks have been awful in preventing yards after the catch - soo many missed tackles, they just don't understand how to stop a runner one on one. I reckon we have as much to teach them as they have to teach us. Its only limited areas of overlap both ways though.

Pretty much this. The sort of training complex they will have compared to us will be absolutely mind blowing
