Having already looked at the club’s most successful try-scorers since the launch of the Super League competition in 1996, here’s a countdown of Wigan’s top 10 goal-kickers of the modern era.8
10 - Julian O'Neill, 72 goals
The Australian former playmaker kicks-off the list, having spent two seasons with Wigan in the early 2000s. He also represented Brisbane, Widnes, London Broncos, South Sydney, North Queensland, Widnes, Wakefield, Leigh and Queensland. His son, Ethan, a back-rower, recently signed with Leigh Leopards for 2025
9 - Josh Charnley, 77 goals
Not only an impressive try-scoring tally, the winger also kicked goals during his time with Wigan - predominantly across the 2012 season
8 - Adam Keighran, 79 goals
The current star centre finished the 2024 regular Super League campaign as the third-most successful goal-kicker, with an 84.33% success rate
7 - Sam Tomkins, 125 goals
The legendary full-back and former England captain kicked his first goals for the club in 2010 in a 28-10 win over Huddersfield, and was given the duties in 2018
6 - Zak Hardaker, 195 goals
The 33-year-old made 80 appearances for Wigan before his departure in 2022. He joined Hull FC from Leigh Leopards ahead of the 2025 campaign
5 - Danny Tickle, 201 goals
Born in Golborne, the former forward kicked goals for Wigan from 2002 to 2006
4 - Harry Smith - 255
The England international did not miss a single shot during the 2023 play-offs, with a semi-final win over Hull KR and the Grand Final triumph over Catalans Dragons at Old Trafford
3 - Matty Smith, 279 goals
The former England international won two Super League Grand Finals and a Challenge Cup during his time with Wigan Warriors, and has returned to the club as academy head coach for 2025 on a four-year deal
